JOB TITLE: Data Visualization Specialist

Location: Vancouver, Ottawa, or may work remotely from anywhere in North America

Summary:
Working with an interdisciplinary team of software professionals you will help lead the definition of the next generation of NGRAIN products and technologies in the emerging 3D visual analytics space. You will leverage skills in data presentation and interaction to showcase the power of NGRAIN’s 3D volume rendering technology.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Work closely with product management, software development and business development teams to define features for new visual analytics applications and technologies.
• Work with existing and potential customers to transform their data into compelling interactive visual stories
• Become intimately familiar with the features of NGRAIN technology and create stunning visual presentations that push its limits.
• Research competing tools and technologies and help NGRAIN remain on the leading edge of visual analytics

Qualifications:
Required Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to create compelling interactive data visualizations of (ideally) abstract data sets
• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Cognos, QlikView etc.
• Strong artistic/design sense
• Ability to learn and apply new tools and technologies quickly
• Ability to interface with existing and potential customers to assess needs and translate into business requirements
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability and confidence to work and make decisions independently

Desired Skills:
• Experience working with very large data sets
• Basic programming/scripting knowledge
• Understanding of Hadoop or other MapReduce paradigms
• Interest in 3D graphics or modeling
