FFunction (ffctn.com) is an interactive studio and Canadian leader in information design and data visualization. Located in Montreal, we create unique projects for prestigious clients such as Unesco, United Nations Global Compact, Gates Foundation, GOOD, HP, Canadian Cancer Society. We are looking for a full-time lead graphic designer / art director. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in an emerging field and work on international level creative projects.


Position summary:

The art director is responsible for the design of infographics and interfaces of data-driven Web applications. He (She) is also responsible for monitoring the productions and quality of projects. He works closely with the creative director and the developers.

Designer duties:

Ensure production of graphic design projects and artistic direction
Create vector illustrations and icons
Develop wireframes and integrate them to presentations
Contribute, through a creative approach, to the evolution of the studio
Work closely with the developers
Provide customer follow up by email/phone

Skills / Qualifications :
Typographic perfection*****
Talent for vector illustration*****
Ability to apply the first two skills to the Web
Capacity to make any layout (print or Web) look amazing
Being up to date with design trends
Ability to address complex design problems and provide sound design solutions
Communicating information visually
Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines
Skilled in the big 3 design apps: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (the latest versions).
Happy working with a small team

Requirements:

Bachelor degree in Graphic Design or Interaction Design or both
A smart, sophisticated and diverse portfolio of web and print work (information architecture and UI is an asset)
4+ years of experience in graphic design
Passion for information and interaction design
A love for learning and creative thinking.
Not be allergic to the office dog
