Help Wanted: Data Visualization Design Jobs > Analyst, Implementation - Boston

Acadian Asset Management LLC is a Boston-headquartered investment management firm with wholly owned affiliates located in Singapore and London. As of September 30, 2014, the firm managed approximately US$70 billion on behalf of major pension funds, endowments, foundations, governments and other investors based in the U.S. and abroad.

Position Overview:
As a member of the Portfolio Analytics team, you will develop innovative applications that are necessary to maintain our competitive advantage. These systems allow us to effectively analyze and understand portfolio performance. The nature of this role is end-to-end development. You will utilize Big Data techniques to uncover patterns in the data. And, you will design the user interface to communicate this information to investment professionals. This is a unique opportunity to utilize a variety of technical skills across the technology stack including: Python, JavaScript, D3, JQuery, CSS, numerical analysis, parallel processing, etc.

Responsibilities:
•Design and develop custom solutions for web based analytical and visualization applications.
•Design and develop software systems using JavaScript and other programming languages.
•Maintain and re-factor existing code and applications.
•Increase efficiency of handling large data sets.
•Design and develop automated work flow applications.

Qualifications:
•Outstanding software development skills, both front and back-end.
•Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
•JavaScript development experience required.
•Analytic capacity to work with large data sets.
•Experience with Python and scientific computing is a plus.
•Experience with visualization packages (e.g. D3) is a plus.
•Experience with web development packages (JQuery, CSS, Web Sockets, etc.) is a plus.
•Investment knowledge is not required, but the desire to learn and take an interest in the data is.
