Graphicacy, an analytic design and interactive web development studio based in Washington, DC, is looking for a Front End Developer and Data Visualizer to join our team to deliver innovative and exciting design solutions and products for our clients. Graphicacy works with forward-looking progressive think tanks, academic institutions, non-profits, corporations, and other clients to tell important stories visually. Graphicacy is well established – over five years in business, with an impressive portfolio and client roster – and we are having fun growing and continually incorporating new methods and approaches.

The ideal candidate is a proven problem solver capable of working with in a fast paced team environment to utilize design assets to create dynamic applications for our clients.

Responsibilities

– Conceptualize, design and implement rich interactive and responsive applications with comprehensive JS frameworks such as Angular and React.
– Brings data systems to life from storage to access by connecting with relational and NoSQL databases, custom APIs, and lightweight server-side applications in Node.js, Ruby or similar.
– Interface with other team members on a daily basis including creative and backend engineering teams.

Position Requirements

– Experience and interest in information graphics and data visualization and familiarity with a range of front-end technologies.
– Highly skilled with JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
– Proficient with data visualization libraries such as D3.js
– Significant development experience working on web technologies, including CMS’s like Drupal and WordPress.
– Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
– Ability to change gears quickly, see the big picture, and move at startup pace.
– Ability to work collaboratively with developers as well as editorial/creative staff
