Inside the Glenn Beck-Goldline Scheme infographic

Fools Gold: Inside the Glenn Beck Goldline Scheme is a new infographic posted on The Big Picture blog.  Designed by our friend Jess Bachman from WallStats.com, Fool’s Gold is a controversial visual explanation of how Glenn Beck’s comments on his shows can drive viewers to purchase gold coins from Goldline, who is one of his show sponsors.

Surely the saddest thing about this reveal is that it represents merely the tip of the iceberg of the demise of integrity across the board from Congress to pundits on TV and Radio: Is there any source of information left to us that we truly can trust now?

I noticed an interesting item yesterday about how we tend to respond to so-called "facts" and tweeted about this article; it seems relevant here: "if you feel good about yourself, you’ll listen — if you feel insecure or threatened, you won’t" ~ How facts backfire: http://ow.ly/2hvIz"

You post links to unproven and potentially harmful diet information. By posting links to sites where one can purchase books and accessories related to these diets, you are doing the same thing Beck does. People who buy gold coins may suffer economic consequences, but fad diets may have serious health consequences. Which is worse?

totally agree with Mr Beddows, but Glenn Beck is probably THE most extreme example. How he ever became a 'news' presenter is truly beyond me.
