As awesome as this all is think of the amount of standards that would have to be defined for these concepts to work. Still - it looks awesome! The next invention will be making smudge proof glass...

Anyone who's used an iPad probably winced right around 2:20 with the car dash display. Glossy reflects light. Convex catches light from more angles. Dust and fingerprints further prevent you from being able to see what's on the display, especially when paired with ambient light.

Lastly, no mention of haptics? Right now you can tune the radio without looking and change the fan speed without looking. This is made possible by controls that you can identify based solely on their shape, size, and position. This isn't possible with a flat, featureless surface, so you'll have to look. Except that the glossy, convex dust-covered surface is effectively unreadable with any ambient light at all. The future day of glass, as imagined, will have a TON of car crashes. =P

The possibilities are intriguing. The devil's in the details.
