The Dead Zones: When Not to Post on Social Media

The Dead Zones: When Not to Post on Social Media infographic

The Dead Zones: When Not to Post on Social Media infographic from SumAll takes a look at the the worst times to post content on social media.

Now that everyone knows the best times to post on social media – and if you don’t, take a look at our infographic for a refresher–we started thinking about the flip side to the golden hours: the dead zones.

We researched what hours of the day your post will be seen by the fewest number of people and collected them all into this infographic. Beware.

Tell one story really well is one of the keys to a successful infographic, and this design does just that!

Here’s their prior infographic about the BEST times to post for comparison:

Social media first opened its doors, folks have been obsessed with figuring out when they should be making their updates. You know, to guarantee the maximum possible engagement. Usually the focus has been on the right times to publish, but how about we turn that on its head?

you know.. i guess it all depends on what you are using it for. if its for marketing? kill youselves. ~ bill hicks
aside from that.. why would anyone ever turn twitter off?

im a political tweeter. the morons make their delusional rwnj statements during business hours.. the talking heads and panels chew it up and analyze it from 4pm to 11pm... then jon stewart tells us the truth about it at 11pm... so... i find that my best social media times are whenever some moron makes a stupid statement.... or when the media loses focus... or when the most honest men in news today.. stewart and colbert help us see the hypocrisy... till about 3am.. if i can get to sleep... so... again... depends on what you use it for.... marketing?? kill yourself.

Nice write up.Social media opens way for marketing. But,the problem is the right time and site to post. You have outlined some great tips here.

This would perhaps be of some value in a world with no time zones. Unfortunately, on planet Earth, it apears to be completely meaningless!

I agree with the previous comment, if you have followers in different time zones, as most people do, then this infographic is meaningless.

Time zones differ but is you are good at keeping your social media from time to time then you will have no problems posting at all. Likewise I agree to the previous comment that there are different time zones and this infographic is meaningless.

I think most of the traffic using this sites in this time. So if any one can enter their related post on this time they will get huge traffic to website.

I know this post was written a little while back. Do you feel that these time periods are still accurate? Thanks http://www.marketpointdigital.com/about/
