Today it is more important than ever to make our homes more energy efficient without sacrificing home comfort. An energy-efficient home will keep your family comfortable while saving you money. Unfortunately, a lot of energy is wasted through leaky windows or ducts, old appliances, or inefficient heating and cooling systems. You can use many tips to save money and energy! This infographic details many different money saving tips and shows how we spend the money on our homes.

Infographic provided by Accent Building Products, a direct distributor of the industry’s top accent home and building products.  All products are shipped to you directly from the manufacturers’ factory.

It’s interesting from an online marketing and SEO perspective that I can find the infographic on gallery sites like Infographics Showcase, Infographics Inspiration, and Visual.ly but I was unable to find the original anywhere on the Accent Building Products website or blog.  This means that any popularity in terms of links and visitors to the infographic itself will benefit the gallery sites, but not Accent Building Products.  Only indirectly will Accent get any benefit if readers separately visit their site, but they would have to manually type in the URL because none of the infographics have a link back to the site.

This is a fun visual explanation design.  The illustrations clearly put the suggestions and data into context of the areas in the house.  There is a lot of text, but the small callouts make it easy to read.  It would have been more effective to visualize the pieces of data that are included in the design.

About half the energy use in the United States is just to heat, cool and light our building. All the items shown in this article are good to do, and many people already have done. As the chart shows, heating and cooling is the biggest item for any building and one area to really make a difference. One of the easiest way to make your home more energy efficient is the often overlook bathroom ventilation fan, including this article. Out of sight and behind the grill, there I a exhaust vent line that leads outside and most fans. Most fans only have a flap that does not seal very well, and is design to let air easy escape the house. To address this problem, please check out the fan insert offered by the Larson Fan Company. There ventilation fan assembly has an automatic, built-in true damper that really makes a difference in lowering your utility bills.

Saving electricity is a noble cause because electric companies often produce electricity by burning fossil fuel such as coal, oil, and natural gas. These sources are non renewable source of energy also burning of these fossils contributes to global warming and pollution. If we save electricity properly we can save 35% of the electricity consumption which we used and that’s a big step towards making a better planet. Also there are countless number of benefits in saving the electricity. If you talk about financial benefits saving energy means less electricity consumption which implies to lesser electricity bills. Apart from these there are also many environmental benefits because saving energy not just benefited you, it benefits the whole planet. If every one of us saves its own share of energy, then I am sure the day is not far when we actually called our planet a smarter and greener planet.

This is a very cool infographic, thanks for sharing this! I have been looking at some green homes in Tennessee because of how energy efficient they are. They can help save money on energy bills while being more modern than any other home that you would buy. I always try to use cold water when necessary and I did not know that lighting used that much energy. I guess when I move into my new home I will keep all of these tips in mind so that I can save even more!

Most of those options above can make a dramatic difference in your energy usage. I use a smart power strip that cuts the power to everything not needed, such as game consoles, when the TV is turned off. These have been one of my favorite investments.

The best part I like is this: The reliability and availability of modern energy sources cause people to tend to assume that it will always be accessible. And as for the case of non-renewable energy sources, most people do not know or maybe even refuse to accept that it will eventually run out.
